I recently had the pleasure to try out and review a new free web tool called Qirina. We all know that an SEO tool can be very useful; they are used to save time in our SEO projects, so any new tool should be tried out in my opinion, but this one got me by surprise.

Now I didn’t know what to expect at first, it looked like a keyword density checker at a first glance with some extra details. That is not what I needed, that is not what anyone needs, there are tons of keyword density checkers on the web as there is, but then my eyes turned to the right and that is when I discovered Qirina’s true purpose and true potential.

Qirina SEO Tool

Before we get to that let’s explain a bit how Qirina works. You have two options; you can either perform a search using your domain name or the chosen keyword. When searching your or any other domain name you will be given a basic breakdown of your keywords regarding density and allocation in key space as well as relevance or impact. A bit advanced breakdown of things regarding keyword tools. Why is this useful?

Well these specific details you will be given allow you to measure how successful your website can be regarding a certain keyword. But that is not all, it will also show you how search engines see you and in which niche they are most likely to put your website. If you keywords are properly targeted the niche will be obvious, but in some cases you will realize that your keywords are undefined and that search engines may be confused as to the nature and niche of your website, which clouds your website’s relevance. On the downside you can’t get the breakdown of things for the entire website, but only for the root domain, the tool still doesn’t have a feature that will analyze the entire website, which is something to look forward to.

The second type of search is keyword search, and that is what I found out when I looked on the right side of the screen. When doing a keyword search the tool will act like a search engine, providing you with relevant websites. In other words, when you perform a check on your domain, your website will get listed in the Qirina database with the keywords that the tool itself determined relevant. So this makes for a great resource when finding related sites to get links from, well that is my take.

What I actually saw when I looked to the right is the list of similar sites, from top to bottom you will get a list of the most relevant websites to yours. According to Qirina the most similar website to practical SEO were K2SEO, SEOWorkgroup and DIYSEO. Not a bad guess, and according to my analysis there is a rather good compatibility between these 3 and my own website.

Qirina describes itself as “lexicographical map of the web space which will show you where sites lie in relation to each other in the matrix consisting of keywords, which we call the keyspace.” Nicely said, may be confusing until you try it out, after that it will show you what this new addition to the SEO world can bring us.

Qirina is a refreshing and brave new attempt I give a full applause. I simply can’t wait to see what Nick Oba, the creator of this tool, will bring us next.
