In fact, most of the people online monetize their websites and blogs with Google Adsense, so is Adsense so great, and is it really a great source of income? To build 100 websites you will need to invest at least $1,000 or more, you need to pay $10 for each domain and you need to pay for hosting. So the starting cost is much greater, plus it is much harder to manage a great number of websites. So practically no one goes for this type of Adsense monetization at first, usually people start with the niche type and later expand, which is the best possible course of action you can take. Now if you are going for a one Adsense website you also have two choices, general topic website or niche topic website.

Niche topic websites are more focused and they give you better related Adsense ads on your website, that way you can target more profitable keywords for your Adsense ads. But if you are not an expert on any specific topic you can also try to go with general topic websites, there is a trick to make some money there as well, and the trick is to write a very targeted and well optimized posts that will insure that you get targeted ads.

Adsense monetization is great if you know how to handle yourself and your website. This is hard work; many people make the mistake by listening to self proclaimed gurus who spread the myth of Adsense ready websites. You know the story; you heard it a million times. Build 20 websites with 5 targeted pages and nothing more and you will make money from Adsense enough to live a comfortable life. Although a 5 page website can make you money there is much more to it than just providing targeted content.

Is there a critical mass of traffic where you would recommend starting on an Adsense campaign? For a newer web site, it seems like a wasted effort sometimes…

Well, Calvin, there isn’t a certain amount where you say now is the time. That is a risk, but yes, if you have a newbie site you shouldn’t risk it. You either start the site with it or add it once you feel comfortable with it…
