I wonder why you placed “attention to existing customers” on the last place. It seems to me that it should at the very beginning, because it is one of the most widely spread mistakes that leads different kinds of business to failure.

I put it in the last part so business owners will realize as they finish reading this post that while they are pushing their branding efforts to get more NEW customers and reach out to prospect clients they must not forget their existing customers. I want to give emphasis that the objective of branding and marketing a business is to GROW your market and get MORE customers and not just to acquire new customers from time to time while losing the existing ones. :)

In Monitoring the brand,it is also very important that you should select the right people/company for the job. Some research companies tend to lie and report what owners will want to hear. They fear that if they will tell that your brands is negatively perceived in the market you will get mad of them or even change them and use other companies.
